Prohibition of circuses with animals
We reported to the State Inspectorate the circus Candy, which uses animals in its performances, currently performing in Međimurje. The circus published photos of camels on social networks. Animals have an extremely difficult time enduring the harsh conditions in circuses, which is why they show signs of stress and psychosis. We are in favor of completely banning circuses with animals.
Ban on urban beekeeping
We reacted to the protest of the association of beekeepers in Zagreb, where beekeepers once again demanded the re-introduction of urban beekeeping. We appealed to keep in force the very justified ban on beekeeping in Zagreb and to increase the number of seedlings of plants that would attract wild bees and other pollinators in city gardens and other green areas.
Against testing Botox on animals
We joined animal rights organizations across Europe in collecting signatures against botox testing on animals. The European Directorate received almost 165,000 signatures. It is unacceptable that animals are still subjected to agonizing deaths for a product that is widely used for cosmetic purposes, even though there are testing methods that do not use animals. A fine of up to 1000 euros for abusing animals
We have announced that amendments to the Law on Offenses against Public Order and Peace have entered into force , increasing the amount of fines for committed offences. According to this Law, a person who “…abuses animals in a public place or mistreats them in any other way”, will be fined from 200 to 1000 euros for the misdemeanor. We emphasized the great importance of this provision and the need for it to be in the law.
They took away his mother, milk and life!
We have published new posters that draw attention to the brutal fate of male calves in the dairy industry, who are first deprived of their mother, then their milk, and finally their life. Male calves end up in slaughterhouses as veal. Before that, they are separated from their mothers immediately after birth and locked in narrow individual cages, and they often do not even receive colostrum ( their first milk) from the mother, but through feeding devices. Invite everyone to learn more and not use animal milk.
Stop breeding animals that cannot breathe
We want the Animal Protection Act in Croatia to ban the breeding of animals that suffer because of their physical characteristics. Certain breeds of cats and dogs have been systematically bred for the specific shape of the muzzle, head, and neck. Brachycephalic dogs often have chronic health problems with breathing, heart, joints and skin, gastrointestinal problems, and various eye and other diseases throughout their life. Learn more about the lifelong suffering of dogs.
Mother’s Day is also for animal mothers
On the occasion of Mother’s Day, we invited everyone to remember mothers of other species who also love their children. All of them make great efforts and make sacrifices to protect, nurture and raise their children, but many are neglected and denied motherhood. Read more about our Mother’s Day message.
PUMA ditches fur
We announced that PUMA, one of the world’s leading sports brands, has joined the international program “Stores without fur”. With this affiliation, PUMA confirms its rejection of fur and will not use kangaroo skin. We invited everyone to choose only clothes and shoes without animal skin and fur.
